Agility Group Classes
New students must begin at Level 1 and work their way progressively through the levels. Instructor approval is required to move onto the next level. It is common to repeat levels, it all depends on the progression of the dog, the handler, and how you work together as a team! If you have already taken agility classes at another facility you and your dog will be evaluated and placed accordingly into the appropriate class. Please contact us to schedule an evaluation.
Schedule an EvaluationFoundations Agility (Level 1)
This class will focus on foundational skills required for a successful agility team such as handler focus, target work, working on and off lead, sit-stays and recalls, teaching both verbal and hand signals, as well as beginning to introduce dogs to walking on, over and through equipment. It is suggested that you complete an obedience class prior to enrolling in Foundations Agility, but not necessary. Progression to higher levels will require a solid sit, stay, and recall, among other skills. Dogs must be 12 weeks or older to enroll in Foundations Agility
Beginners Agility (Level 2)
This class will focus on introducing dogs to all pieces of equipment used in agility in a safe and fun manner, building confidence, and progressively raising the height of equipment to competition regulation height. Dogs and handlers will also begin to learn basic handling skills, and improve their dog-handler team skills. You must complete Foundations Agility and be approved to begin Beginners Agility (Level 2). Dogs must be 6 months or older to participate in this class.
Intermediate Agility (Level 3)
This class will focus on introducing teams to small course sequences, while continuing to build and improve on handling skills, obstacle performance, as well as handler & obstacle focus. This class will also focus largely on weave poles as well as contact work.
Course Work (Level 4)
This class will focus on coursework for dogs training at Novice Level through Masters Level Agility. Teams will practice running drills, sequences, and full courses for their specific skill level. Take your handling and teamwork to the next level during competitions or just to have fun with your dog. Dogs must be competent at all obstacles, including weaving poles and contact equipment at full height to enroll in this class.
